HexFox is a competition that puts AI literacy front and centre. You'll learn how AI systems work, practise giving them clear instructions, and tackle a task that lets you show what you've learned.
You don't need to be a coder. You don't need prior experience. The Academy will get you up to speed before you start.
Learn
Work through short modules covering what AI is, how to prompt it well, and how to use it responsibly.
Compete
Pick one of three tasks at your difficulty level — from a community proposal to an ethics deep-dive.
Submit
Hand in your work as text or a document. Judges review entries and award scores.

Latin Through AI
Latin
Choose a short Latin passage, inscription, or historical text and produce a translation and analysis of its meaning, grammar, and cultural context. Compare your interpretation with at least one academic or classroom source, then evaluate where your final response was accurate, misleading, or incomplete. You should demonstrate effective use of AI throughout the task and briefly reflect on how your interaction with AI influenced the quality and development of your work.

Frequently asked
Do I need any technical background?
No. The Academy is designed for complete beginners. If you can write a paragraph, you can take part.
Can I work in a team?
This event is for individual submissions. You're welcome to discuss ideas with friends, but the work you submit must be your own.
Can I use AI tools to help me?
Absolutely — that's the point. Be honest about what you used and how you used it.
How does choosing a task work?
You don't pre-register for a task. When you're ready to upload your work, the Submit page lets you pick which brief your submission addresses, and you can submit for different tasks.
How will my data be handled?
